Which Saint Lucia All-Inclusive Resort Fits Your Trip?
Compare family features at Coconut Bay and Royalton, three adults-only Sandals stays, locations, transfers and rate inclusions to verify.
Choose by traveling party and daily priorities rather than a single resort ranking. Coconut Bay combines family and adults-only zones near Hewanorra International Airport; Royalton Saint Lucia offers family programming in the north; and Sandals Grande St. Lucian, Halcyon Beach, and Regency La Toc provide adults-only stays with shared brand benefits. Whichever property you prefer, verify the exact rate: an amenity being on-site does not necessarily mean it is included.
Start with this five-resort shortlist
The operators present these five properties as all-inclusive:
- Coconut Bay Beach Resort & Spa
- Royalton Saint Lucia
- Sandals Grande St. Lucian
- Sandals Halcyon Beach
- Sandals Regency La Toc
This is a criteria-based shortlist, not a ranking or a complete inventory of every Saint Lucia resort offering an all-inclusive plan. Operator citations and the principal distinctions appear in the comparison table below.
Coconut Bay serves a mixed audience through two designated areas: the adults-only Harmony wing and the family-friendly Splash wing. Royalton accommodates families and offers a supervised club for children ages 4–12. The three Sandals properties are marketed as adults-only. That label identifies an age policy, not the quality of service, rooms, beaches, or atmosphere.
Booking platforms identify additional possibilities. Expedia labels Secrets St. Lucia Resort & Spa and Bel Jou Hotel as adults-only and all-inclusive, but the selected rate still needs to be checked for its exact meal, drink, activity, and age terms. Review Expedia’s current Saint Lucia all-inclusive listings.
Apple Vacations also lists Zoëtry Marigot Bay St. Lucia and Royalton Hideaway Saint Lucia among its featured all-inclusive properties, with Royalton Hideaway labeled adults-only. These marketplace listings are useful for expanding a shortlist, but they do not provide complete first-party terms for every available room rate. See the current Apple Vacations Saint Lucia listings.

For families: compare Coconut Bay and Royalton
Start with Coconut Bay when children’s activity infrastructure is central to the vacation. Splash has a waterpark, lazy river, CocoLand, and a kids club, making it easier to plan full resort days around more than a conventional pool.
The property can also suit a mixed-generation group because Harmony is designated for adults. Do not assume, however, that a guest booked in Splash may use every Harmony pool, bar, or facility. Ask for the current access rules attached to the exact room category.
Start with Royalton Saint Lucia when a clearly defined supervised club matters more than a waterpark. Its complimentary Clubhouse Kids Club serves children ages 4–12 with games, crafts, and outdoor activities. Royalton also lists pools, whirlpools, fitness facilities, kayaking, sailing, and snorkeling.
Royalton’s brand inclusion FAQ lists non-motorized water sports. Ask which equipment, sessions and conditions apply at this property; an excursion or lesson can have separate terms.
A practical family decision rule is:
- Choose Coconut Bay first if a waterpark, lazy river, separate family and adult areas, or the shortest stated UVF transfer in this shortlist is the priority.
- Choose Royalton first if the children are ages 4–12, supervised club programming matters, and a northern base near Rodney’s Marina suits the itinerary.
Confirm infant care, teen programming, family-room layouts, beach conditions, and childcare schedules separately. Those details can affect a family stay as much as the headline facilities.
For adults-only trips: how the Sandals choices differ
Grande St. Lucian, Halcyon Beach, and Regency La Toc are all marketed as adults-only, all-inclusive resorts. Sandals specifies guests aged 18 or older and positions its stays for couples; solo travelers or adult groups should confirm booking eligibility directly in the Sandals FAQ. Their clearest differences are setting and premium room type:
- Grande St. Lucian occupies a Gros Islet peninsula and offers selected Rondoval suites with private plunge pools.
- Halcyon Beach is in Castries and offers selected rooms with access to a secluded pool sanctuary.
- Regency La Toc occupies a Castries estate and offers selected oceanfront villa suites with private pools.
None of those pool features is standard in every room. Verify the complete room name and description rather than relying on resort-level photography.
Sandals states that dining, premium drinks, selected water sports, golf green fees and transfers, and transportation among its three Saint Lucia properties are included, subject to current terms. “Selected” is important: it should not be interpreted as every sport, lesson, excursion, or off-site activity.
The exchange program broadens the dining selection, with Halcyon advertising access to 27 restaurants across the participating resorts. It also adds travel time. The operator estimates about 20 minutes between Halcyon and Regency La Toc, 30 minutes between Halcyon and Grande St. Lucian, and 45 minutes between Regency La Toc and Grande St. Lucian. Check current shuttle schedules, restaurant opening days, reservation requirements, and dress codes before planning an evening at another property.
Choose the location before chasing the amenity list
Evaluate arrival convenience separately from excursion convenience. The property nearest the airport may not be the most practical base for the places you intend to visit during the week.
Coconut Bay is the clearest choice in this shortlist for minimizing the initial transfer from Hewanorra International Airport, commonly identified by the code UVF. Its stated transfer estimate appears in the table above. That convenience may matter after a long flight, but it says nothing by itself about service, beach conditions, room quality, or total value.
Royalton’s stated UVF estimate is substantially longer, but its northern position places it near Rodney’s Marina. The resort also lists Rodney Bay, Pigeon Island, and nearby golf courses among surrounding points of interest. Their proximity does not make transportation, admission, tee times, or tours part of the room rate.
Among the Sandals properties, Grande St. Lucian is in Gros Islet, while Halcyon Beach and Regency La Toc are in Castries. Grande may suit a trip centered on the Rodney Bay and Gros Islet area. Halcyon and La Toc provide different Castries bases while retaining access to the Sandals exchange program.
Do not choose by airport mileage alone. Road routing, terrain, traffic, pickup logistics, and shared-transfer stops can matter more than the distance on a map. Treat promotional travel estimates as planning references rather than guarantees, and request a current door-to-door estimate for the relevant flight time.
Apply the same test to excursions. If the Pitons or Sulphur Springs are central to the trip, compare current road and boat options from each finalist. A broad label such as “south,” “Castries,” or “north” is not a substitute for an excursion-specific transfer plan.
Separate confirmed inclusions from amenities that may cost extra
Apply four labels to every item associated with a resort:
- Included: The selected rate explicitly covers it.
- Restricted: It is included only for certain rooms, club levels, ages, schedules, or reservation types.
- Extra-cost: The terms state that an additional charge applies.
- Unverified: The amenity is advertised, but its inclusion is not clear.
At Coconut Bay, the stated package includes unlimited à la carte and buffet dining, unlimited top-shelf liquor, in-room Wi-Fi, and bottled water in room mini-fridges. Still verify restaurant schedules, reservation rules, minibar refill frequency, room service, and possible dining supplements.
At Sandals, the shared operator-stated benefits include dining, premium drinks, selected water sports, golf green fees and transfers, and transportation among the three properties. Confirm which sports, equipment, lessons, courses, schedules, and room categories qualify.
At Royalton, the resort’s inclusion FAQ lists unlimited dining, 24-hour room service, entertainment, fitness activities and supervised children’s clubs. Its complimentary kids club serves ages 4–12. The spa is available on-site, but treatments are not confirmed as part of the standard all-inclusive rate. Access to the Diamond Club pool may also depend on booking a qualifying category.
A restaurant, pool, spa, excursion desk, or sports facility appearing on a resort website proves that the facility is advertised—not that every guest may use it without restriction or additional payment. Before booking, ask:
- Does this exact room rate include the full meal plan?
- Which restaurants require reservations or carry surcharges?
- Are premium alcohol brands included?
- What does the minibar contain, and how often is it refilled?
- Is room service included, limited, or charged separately?
- Are gratuities included, expected, or restricted by policy?
- Are airport transfers included in this rate?
- Do any pools, lounges, restaurants, or beach areas require club-level access?
- Which water sports include equipment or lessons?
- Are motorized activities covered?
- Are excursions included, discounted, or entirely separate?
Save the written answers or a copy of the rate terms. The precise inclusion list attached to the room is more useful than the general “all-inclusive” label.
Compare the real price and protect the booking
Build a like-for-like worksheet for every quote:
- Identical travel dates
- The same number and ages of guests
- Comparable room categories
- Confirmed all-inclusive eligibility
- Matching payment and cancellation terms
- Taxes and mandatory fees
- Airport transfers
- Desired spa treatments, activities, or excursions
A per-person nightly rate cannot be compared directly with a per-room quote. Use the same dates and party, then calculate the full stay including mandatory charges and desired extras. Read recent reviews for the room category and traveler type that match your trip.
Record a checked-on date beside every rate, rating, review count, transfer estimate, and package term in your worksheet. Run the search again immediately before paying.
Weather protection also requires careful reading. Coconut Bay and Serenity at Coconut Bay publish a conditional Hurricane Pledge under which qualifying storm-related disruptions may permit rescheduling or applying unused nights to a future stay. Eligibility rules, deadlines, availability, blackout dates, room and season differences, and other conditions apply. Third-party reservations remain governed by the booking agent’s policies, and the resorts recommend travel insurance. The pledge does not guarantee reimbursement for airline costs or every weather-related loss. Read the current Hurricane Pledge terms.
The final choice should remain criteria-based: Coconut Bay for separate family and adult zones or a short stated UVF transfer; Royalton for supervised programming for ages 4–12 and a northern base; and the Sandals properties for adults-only stays with shared dining, selected sports, golf benefits, and resort exchange.
